So you've plumped for a MASK remote monitoring system. Good for you! Your business is about to get easier, more efficient, and much more productive.
In our last post, we discussed the installation of MASK remote monitoring systems. Now, we'll talk a bit about what you can expect once your system is up and running.
What can be monitored remotely?
Our innovative remote monitoring systems can be set up to monitor pretty much anything. If we can make your system produce data, we can also monitor that data. Want to check on food quality? Oversee energy usage? Spot operational patterns over time? Keep an eye on pressure levels? Make sure everything's working as it should? In our experience, you can, with a bit of ingenuity, make almost any system or operation churn out data! We've set up remote monitoring systems across an extremely wide range of industries and our systems are even now hard at work monitoring a diverse range of processes. If you're unsure whether or not a remote monitoring system could work for you, contact us and we'll chat through your options.
How will it work?
As we discussed in our last post, MASK's engineers will connect your system up to a PLC. This will collect, store and send out the data you need. This data can be collected in whatever form suits you best, from pure data to analytical graphs.
We will make accessing this data as convenient as possible for your business. Whenever, wherever and however you need your data, we can configure the PLC to oblige.
Accessing remote monitoring data
Your remote monitoring system can send data out via remote access, SMS text messaging, or email - enabling you to access your data in whatever form you prefer, from any device enabled with our specialised software. A phone, a tablet, a computer - all of these will give you access to your remote monitoring system, no matter where you are! We don't rely on existing infrastructures, so we can use the mobile networks to keep you connected and provide you with cover in remote or unmanned locations (which would be too cost-ineffective for traditional infrastructures).
What about data storage?
The PLC will store a certain amount of data itself (the amount of storage will vary, depending on what option you go for). All data from our systems can be backed up locally via SD cards. This enables you to keep ongoing data, ensures that someone on site always has access to the data and that data can be re-sent in the unlikely event of a fault.
Moving forward, MASK Control Systems are in the process of developing our own cloud-based data facility. When this project comes to fruition, our customers will be able to easily access all of their data and data analysis through any web portal.
